Camp & Picnic

Enjoy the Beauty of Lake Travis

Come enjoy the picturesque scenery and inviting clear waters of Lake Travis. Use our family-friendly beach-like entry or our stairs to easily access the water when the lake is low or enjoy a picnic on our beautiful waterfront grounds. Bring your whole family to swim, feed ducks, and return later for incredible sunsets–Windy Point Park’s day pass lasts generously past sunset. It’s like having your own backyard on the lake.

Convenient to Austin, Windy Point Park is a fun destination campground, and you don’t need reservations. Tent camping is primitive–you can set up anywhere you want in the grass, trees, or waterfront–yet the groomed lawn and abundant shade trees help make it feel civilized. Or move into the air-conditioned RVdillo for greater comfort.

You can use our firepits, grills, and picnic tables or bring your own. Clean restrooms, warm-water showers, local ice, and a 24-hr snack-shack are available for your camping comfort. We also have free internet. Whether picnicking till sunset or camping overnight, Windy Point Park is a great place to relax and feel at home.

Scuba Diving at Windy Point Park

Windy Point Park is one of the top diving “hot spots” in the Central Texas area. It has been recognized by various divers and instructors from all over the state. Locally, several Fire Rescue and Underwater Rescue Operations use Windy Point Park as a training ground to help save lives.

We offer a wealth of items to find, explore, and seek out in Lake Travis. Divers will find boat wrecks and unique metal sculptures of a scuba diver, a sea turtle and a shark  along with other interesting objects. There are various boats, a Pinto and more! ( See the detailed map. ). There are six platforms available for instructors to use for training.

Divers with advanced training and experience can enjoy the deep underwater canyon wall, plunging to depths well over 100 feet. Dress warmly however – the temperatures at that depth can differ 30 degrees from the surface

SCUBA fills available from 8am to 6pm  for $12 per bottle.
